YouNote — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

YouNote ("the extension", "we", "us") is a browser extension that lets you take timestamped notes on YouTube videos and review them in a personal dashboard. This policy explains what data the extension handles, why, and your choices. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to provide the feature.

Information we collect

We do not collect your browsing history, keystrokes, or activity on pages other than the YouTube notes you deliberately create.

How we use your information

We use your data only to provide the extension's single purpose. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.

How your data is stored

Your account and notes are stored securely using Supabase, our backend and database provider, protected by row-level security so that only you can access your own notes. If you use the extension without signing in, your notes are stored locally in your browser only, and are uploaded to your account if you later sign in.

Data sharing

Your choices and rights

Data retention

We retain your notes and account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete a note or your account, the associated data is removed from our database.

Children's privacy

YouNote is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
